The Best Ways to Dry Golf Gloves (and the Ways That Ruin Them)
Nothing in golf dies faster than a glove on a radiator.
The best way to dry a golf glove: smooth it back into hand shape while it's damp, lay it flat somewhere with moving air at room temperature, and give it overnight. No radiator, no sun, no hairdryer, no parcel shelf. Leather keeps its softness by drying slowly; every shortcut costs oils the glove never gets back.
Drying during the round
Drying starts before the glove is even properly wet. Off between shots and on every green, hung by the tab from your bag so air reaches both sides while you walk. In summer, swap to a second glove at the turn; the wet one dries in the breeze on the bag while the fresh one plays the back nine.
After a wet round
- Blot first. Press the glove between towel folds. No twisting, no wringing; a wrung glove comes back a different shape.
