Best Golf Towels UK - 2026 Guide
The hardest-working thing in your golf bag is probably the one you got free with a logo on it.
The best golf towels in the UK are microfiber with a waffle-weave face: they hold several times their weight in water, split into a wet half and a dry half, and clip to the bag so they're still there on the 18th. Ours are 15 x 24 inches, £24.99, and printed edge to edge in designs nobody else at your club owns. Here's what to look for, and where we'd spend the money in 2026.

What separates a proper golf towel from the free one
Fabric. Microfiber with a waffle weave. The raised texture digs into grooves that flat cotton slides over, and it stays light when soaked instead of hanging off your bag like wet washing.
Size. 15 x 24 inches (roughly 38 x 61cm) hangs from a stand bag and stops above the turf, so it never drags through wet grass. Big enough to split into a wet half and a dry half, which is how caddies actually use them.
The clip. A magnet holds a towel until something tugs it, and things tug towels all day: brambles, bag stands, playing partners. A clip keeps the towel through all of it.
Design. A towel does its job hanging in plain sight. It's the biggest printable surface on your bag, and most golfers waste it on a pro shop logo.
The best golf towels to buy in 2026
Full disclosure: they're ours. We make one towel and put everything into it, which is how the range holds a 4.9 rating from the golfers who own one. Every towel below is microfiber, waffle-weave, 15 x 24, £24.99.
1. Dia de los Muertos Towel. Our most popular towel. Day of the Dead artwork in full colour, with a 2.0 edition for anyone who already wore out the first.
2. Casino Royale Towel. Card-table artwork from the family that runs across our best-selling glove, marker and headcover. The 2.0 reshuffles the deck for 2026.
3. Smoke Show Towel. The chimp from our signature headcover, at towel scale. Recognisable from the clubhouse window.
4. Sea Demons Towel. New for 2026. Sea monsters on a golf bag, for no reason anyone has ever needed one.
5. Trippy Skulls Towel. Skulls, but melted. The one that gets asked about mid-round.
6. Tropicana Towel. The holiday your golf bag never gets. Pairs with the Bombs Away for golfers who'd rather start an argument.
The wet half does the work
Dampen one end at the first tap you pass and leave the other dry. Wet end cleans the face and grooves after every shot that takes turf; dry end handles grips, hands and the ball once you've marked it. One towel, both jobs, no soggy grips in October.
Kept that way, a microfiber towel works for years. The washing routine that keeps it absorbing (and the fabric softener mistake that ruins most of them) is in how to wash a golf towel.

Match it to the rest of the bag
Every towel belongs to a family. Dia de los Muertos and Casino Royale run across our cabretta leather golf gloves, ball markers and headcovers in the same artwork, so the towel is either the first piece of a set or the £24.99 that completes one. Buying for someone else? We've written the towel chapter of that playbook in golf towel gifts.
Golf towel FAQs
What size should a golf towel be?
Between 15 x 24 and 20 x 40 inches. We build ours at the smaller end on purpose: it clears the ground on a stand bag instead of mopping the fairway behind you, and it still splits into a working wet half and a dry half.
Are microfiber golf towels better than cotton?
For golf, yes. Microfiber absorbs several times more water, stays lighter when wet, and the waffle texture cleans grooves that cotton glosses over. Cotton's one advantage is being free with a logo on it, which is why every bag at your club has the same one.
How often should you wash a golf towel?
Every two or three rounds in summer, after every wet one in winter. Cold-ish wash, no softener, air dry. The full routine is in the care guide.
Do magnetic golf towels stay on the bag?
Until something tugs them, and rounds are full of things that tug towels. We build ours with a clip instead, so the towel that starts the round finishes it.
Your irons are clean for the first hole and filthy by the fifth. The golf towels collection has the fix, in designs the rest of the club won't have.
